About Us: John Pickard & Son Memorial Masons
John Pickard & Son is a small family business of Monumental, Memorial Masons, and is situated in Aysgarth, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. We supply memorials throughout North Yorkshire, Cumbria, County Durham and Cleveland.
The business was founded in 1890 as a builders by John Pickard of Carperby near Aysgarth, and began to work as Monumental Masons in 1926. Harry Pickard (son of the founder) and then Derrick Pickard (grandson of the founder) continued the business. Now in its fourth generation, John Pickard & Son is now run by David Pickard, the great grandson of the founder.
All memorials supplied are in natural granite, Yorkshire stone or slate, and are of the highest quality.
Our service includes all the following:
- Supplying the memorial itself with all the required lettering, ornamentation and finishes
- Installation on proper foundations at the plot
- Cemetery or churchyard fees and value added tax. (Some of these are set charges which we have to pay in advance on your behalf.)
